2019 MKV Annual Shuffleboard Tournament day 2

Hello Shuffle-boarders We had a wonderful turnout today for the two shuffleboard matches.  It was great having Terri back on Maui and Gene in the judge’s chair.  Judge Lynn had her act together (lol) and did a great job with the first match.  Thanks to Rosanne and Vicki for keeping score and Roy and Justin for helping with set-up and clean-up for the past week and a half.  I also wanna thank Jane, Barbara and everyone who has taken photos during the tournament and passed them on to me.

We had two exciting main draw semi-final matches today.  Steve and I had a tough one against Chris & Marje but thanks to Steve’s accuracy scoring 7s & 8s, we were able to win a close one and move on to the final tomorrow.  Way to go partner.

Sally & Curt were up against Karen & Dave.  All played well but that Sally is something else.  I think she may hold the record for hitting the most 10s.  Team Sally/Curt are tough and consistent so Steve and I have our work cut out for us tomorrow in the final.
I got an email this morning from Barbara Langendorf telling me about her friend Joe Brakovec.  I never knew Joe but I know he was active with the shuffleboard tournament for many years.  I thought I’d pass on Barbara’s email because it has some info about Joe’s upcoming memorial service and a few pictures of him which I’ve included in today’s photos.  Thanks Barbara for your tribute to Joe
